Program (pdf)
Cultural Program

Dear Presenter,

In order to ensure the smooth running of the conference we have some suggestions for preparing your presentation.
Presentations have been allotted 20 minutes (for presentation only) discussion will take place at the end of the presentations for each session. The conference timetable will be strictly adhered to. The ‘Chair’ of your session will give you 5 and 2 minute warnings that your allotted time is coming to an end. You must stop talking when the Chair person of your session indicates to you that your time is over. Please meet your ‘Chair’ and technical assistant 10 minutes before the start of your session (not your paper). There will be a discussion at the end of each session. You must stay in the hall for the discussion. When preparing your presentation we would really appreciate it if you would take into account that the majority of the delegates will not have English as their first language. If you could please speak slowly this will be a great help to them in being able to understand your presentation. Obviously, this will restrict what you can get across in the space of 20 minutes.

The following equipment will be available for presentations:

a) PC computer with Power Point software, and DVD reader.

b) Hi-Fi amplification system with CD player and compact cassette.

c) Slide projector

Poster presentation
1. Each author/presenter will be provided with a vertical poster board measuring 0,70 x 1,5 m (0,70 x 1,00 is the space available for use).
2. Each presentation will be assigned a poster number and a number sign will be mounted in the upper left hand corner of your poster board. The typical board layout includes the presentation number (supplied by TMT07).
3. Authors will be provided with a reasonable amount of mounting materials.
4. Dott. Fred Seddon (TMT07 Poster Session Coordinator Frederick.seddon@unipd.it ) will be available to assist you with any problems that may arise.

1. You should be prepared to bring business cards or some other means of quickly distributing your name and address to interested participants. You may also wish to provide sign-up sheets to record names and addresses of attendees who might want more information.
2. Providing a limited number of copies of your presentation for the most interested attendees can prove very helpful.
3. Have a three minute oral abstract prepared, but don't do all the talking. Be prepared to exchange information, not just pass it out.
4. Don't allow any one participant to monopolise your time.
5. Consider bringing a pad of paper with you to jot down ideas or to illustrate points during your discussion with attendees.
6. You may wish to bring a small measuring tape, straight edge, and right (perpendicular) angle triangle to assist in mounting your materials.

The conference is hosted by the Department of Education, the Faculty of Education of the University of Padova and the SSIS of Veneto (University of Venice). The official languages of the conference will be English and Italian.

Topics: Research should focus on issues related to teacher training in primary, middle and high schools, theoretical models and methodologies in music education. We are also particularly interested in research projects investigating teacher confidence when teaching music in the classroom and the use of e-learning environments. Also, topics including performance, composition, improvisation, the use of technology, and the possibilities of using informal learning processes in primary, middle and secondary schools classrooms will be considered.
